James Machin

James studied Environmental Chemistry at Northumbria University for 3 years before graduating in the summer of 2004. After 18 months working for Norwich Union and Nestle he returned to his more rural roots taking his current role with Arable Advisor in January 2006.

His role includes general farm management specialising in crop management. In addition James completes agricultural planning applications, including to scale building drawings and all the associated plans and paperwork. He is also involved in agricultural impact assessment field work for major road and pipeline schemes.

In 2008 James gained his BASIS qualification in Crop Protection. In 2009 he took part in and successfully completed the Bayer Cropscience Knowledge Academy. In 2011 James gained FACTS qualified adviser status and completed his NMP CPD training in 2013.
